100 LC mpg

I'm wondering what kind of mpg I can expect from a stock LC 100. I looked a a 1999 today. It was lifted on 34's with an ARB front bumper. The owner said he only gets 12 mpg. That seemed kinda low to me. Does 12 mpg seem right or does that guy have lead foot?

I got 14mpg on my first tank of primarily city driving on stock Michelin tires. I'd say that 12mpg is entirely feasible, especially if he is measuring miles without adjusting at all for the increased tire size. The truck will register less miles with a larger tire and no speedo adjustment.

BTW, which '99 did you look at today? I noticed that you were in Mesa. Was it the green/gray one that's been on Craigslist for a while? How did it look and what was the reason for the repaint and new interior?

I'd run, find a nice clean one.

FWIW: about 11-15 in city. Not bad considering armor, and big tires.

First couple of tanks through mine are showing about 12-15 mpg.

As a general rule of thumb, gasoline powered Land Crusiers are not the best choice if you're after gas mileage.

To the contrary, my 3B 70 series diesel easily got high teens to low 20s in town....

I'm at about 17-18 on the freeway and 14 around town. 100% stock with 32's. One mod to dramatically increase MPG-----get a beater. I have a Honda for daily duties.

I drive moderately. I believe my tires are stock size but they are AT treads. I have averaged, over this past year, 15-16 consistantly. Pretty much as expected.

My brothers was heavily modded on 255/85 and it got a steady 12 in town and on the highway. Never better and never worse even pulling a medium sized trailer. I borrowed it a lot.

If you have to ask, they aren't for you.

As you could tell from my sig I already drive a well built 07 Rubicon. I'm not concerned about poor mileage but I'd still like to know what I'm getting into. Thanks for the sarcastic response, big help.

11 mpg around town and 15 on the highway. My truck is pretty loaded down with bumpers and the drawers. I'm running 33" BFG AT's.
