Ha! That's the British version of "restoration"! A friend of mine bought a 109" from England. I was horrified at what was done to that truck....

Yeah, we Brits don't know anything about cars, which is why you like to buy Land rovers. You ******** - I have seen things proudly presented on this very site which horrify me. This vehicle may have had its brakes bodged anywhere, not just in the UK - retards are global, as you just proved.

Hey now...real cowboys do NOT prey on the undeserving. Watch what you're calling us. :costumed-smiley-007
It's a British colloquialism - in Britain, the expression "cowboy" is used to describe shoddy workmanship, usually in conjunction with the two most fraudulent and negligent professions over here of builders (incl plumbers and electricians) and car mechanics. It has nothing to do with cowboys of the ranching variety, and absolutely nothing to do with the US, though it may originally stemn from the fact that real cowboys were perceived as being migratory casual workers, which is certainly how many British "cowboy" workers behave - they rarely have fixed working premises as their customers would track them down, which is why they gravitate to the building trade (they botch a job and then move on before the full scale of their bad workmanship even comes to light).

Uh oh...name calling...the Expo police are gonna come and get you. Lighten up a little will you? It was meant to be humorous. Must be tough to not be able to laugh at yourself a little. Try it, you might like it....

There was nothing in your tone that suggested humour, and a Nonimous' reply got a spiteful answer from you too. You seem to be trying to retrospectively cover an insult as a joke. I'll also wager that you are one of the hypersensitive type who complains the loudest when a genuine joke is made about the US or its inhabitants while insulting just about every other nation.

Understood that it's not a restored truck. Again, obviously my attempt at a little humor didn't get conveyed well through the 'net.

Hey Julian,
other than the brakes, nothing I didn't expect. Dropping a rebuilt LT77 in with a lt230 with a 1.2 higear, new clutch while I'm it. Driving it almost everyday, did a little interior work to quiet it down. I very happy... And it is not a restored truck, nor will ever be

Lets give Mr Oil the benefit of the doubt here. It's no big thing - not in The Grand Scheme. I for one have posted stuff that went down like a plate of cold sick, in fact I think we all have.

Mr Oil, next time you are over here, let me buy you a pint of decent cider and we'll talk Land Rovers
