Looking at adding one of these 12 Volt OutEquipPro Rooftop A/C units to our Tiger Camper and curious if anyone has one and the pros/cons of it?

Can you translate in easy to understand terms for us less 12v power literate folks how much solar power you would need to run this unit as well as the rest of your rig (compressor fridge, water pump, and a few lights, etc)?

I haven't dealt with that exact one. But I did put a Velit on the top of my kids camper trailer, https://forum.expeditionportal.com/...1102-trailer-build.235492/page-6#post-3177942 , and it looks to be exactly the same or very similar. Its been great so far, and uses very little energy. With a 300ah battery, it doesn't use but 120ah or less at night, around 10hrs of use. Then with only 700 watts of solar it charges it up, and its always at 100% before night fall. I'd buy again in a heartbeat.

No I did not. I used the wires they provided.

I think it would be done with much less however. Just FYI. Probably a single 200 or 300 watt panel would do. I only added more since my location usually is in tree cover.

No personal experience but favorable feedback from some van installs of the unit below. They appear similar but the unit you proposed is less expensive.

That's a cool little unit. It's an inverter driven scroll unit. Should sup power and it looks like less than half of my RRU now. It's also 6 inches less tall than mine. I'll be watching.
