12V fresh water filter/pump.

Does anybody sell a 12V filter/pump combo? I'm looking for something that plugs into a cigarette lighter, has a pump and filter with 20'-30' of hose that I can throw one end into a creek or lake and the other end use to fill fresh water tanks. There's got to be a company out there that makes something like this, no?

Finding a 12v pump with enough head to push/pull water through a 20' to 30' hose … plus a filter … plus the height from source to collection … is going to be a tough order.
Simplify your plan. Gravity can be your friend.

Would anything like this do?
Portable Shower - 12v Runs Off Batteries or Car Cigarette Lighter.

You could substitute the shower head with a pipe. Not sure for the 20-30' lenght.

I had heard once that Earthroamer had something like this to fill their tanks. Can anyone confirm?

Seems like most in this forum built their own. I think Doug Hackney had a small board onto which he mounted an RV 12v pump and a filter. He had a long extension to clip onto the battery for power and a hose to run back to the truck. He could fill tanks from a remote source, filtering before going into the tank, and the pump had enough pressure to spray the exterior of their Fuso/camper rig for washing. Doug or a later owner of the rig had a photo of the pump/filter somewhere on this forum. Songoftheroad bought a second water pump to pump water from 5 gallon jugs of purified water into their XP Camper's tank. They bought the same RV pump as the camper has so they have a B/U if the primary pump breaks. The pump/filter combo seems pretty simple to build with parts available everywhere.

Yeah I agree on the ease of building it. I'm just surprised someone out there hadn't marketed one.
