12V heater and jump pack combo for tent.

Has anyone tried using a small 12V heater (the kind they sell for old beater cars to defrost the windscreen) :ylsmoke: plugged into a jump pack to take the chill out of your tent in cooler months?

Wouldn't let it run for long or unattended, but just wondering if anyone has tried this as a chill buster.

Scrapped this idea and just ordered a refurbed Mr. Heater Big Buddy propane heater from Cabela's for $99. Should do the trick to take the edge off the tent in Northern Vermont this October before bed and early morning as we get ready to emerge from our cocoons.

I looked at using an electric one like that but the A draw compared to the A/H rating of even a large deep cycle battery it wouldn't even last the night. One of the little car jump start packs wouldn;t last more than a couple hours.

Not to mention that the type of heaters mentioned by the OP are pretty usless.

I've used mine in our 8 person tent, my RTT, and the 3 season porch at my cabin.

I believe they are rated for 400 SQ Ft.:coffeedrink:

I read that someone had 2 batteries in his FJ and ran a 12v electric blanket in his Magnolina. I think it was Corey off I8Mud forum.
