1958 Land Rover Series II 88”. I am the second owner. I bought it from an older man who bought it new in 1958 and used it for deer hunting in Nevada. It has 82006 original miles and most of that was being towed to camp. It had about 65000 miles when I bought it five years ago. I took it down to the frame and rebuilt or replaced everything that needed it. Only thing I didn’t touch was the paint. I see these cars all the time claiming to be restored and all they’ve done is shoot paint over the whole thing and think it’s worth a fortune. This car is not restored but built to be stone reliable and as factory correct as practical while still being useable. It has almost no rust except a couple surface spots on the inside of the doors and underside of the hood. The bulkhead is as solid as they come. I drive it daily to work and back and it runs perfectly. The body isn’t perfect and being aluminum has some dents but overall has a nice patina to it. Some stats: Engine rebuilt with 8:0 to 1 compression head and 2.5 cam, Rochester BV carb, k&N filter with stock oil bath filter included. Stock axles and gears, rebuilt tranny and transfer case, Fairey two-speed overdrive. Parabolic springs. Completely new factory cloth wrapped wiring harness from England using proper bullet connectors. Steel wheels, Michelin tires. The stock Lucas wiper motors are intact and worth a bunch of money but don’t really work that well. I never drive it in the rain so hasn’t bothered me. Could use new window felt. Somebody shot a BB at the windshield. It has an original Kodiak Mark 1 heater which one website specializing in Kodiak heaters claims there are none in existence. However it takes up some room and defrost is weak so I was planning on putting a Mojave heater in it just never did. The original owner put a second ignition switch above the factory one. He probably lost the key and I never messed with it. He also mounted different side mirrors by the windows, so it needs the factory mirrors on the fenders where they belong. I think that’s about it. $9800. Call 76oh-92oh-399oh. If you email me convince me you’re not a scammer because I get those sometimes.
