Wander
Expedition Leader
The IIa is sold.
I have an opportunity to get another Rover but sadly this one will have to go first.
-1964 IIa 88 regular, LHD.
-2.25 petrol with weber carb
-Body is straight and clean,no dents or evidence of prior damage.
-235/85 r 16, good rubber all round
-Solid chassis and bulkhead. No rust issues/
-Very nice paint that prior owner had done, the finish is smooth and shiney but they also painted over the cappings. Due to the quality of the finish I have left it that way.
-Deluxe trim low backs from Exmoor on sliders, Heavy floor mats and trans tunnel cover.
-Waxoyled last November.
-Superwinch hub locks on front-I think it has SIII hubs as well.
-All lights work
-Leaking is not a problem, the occasional drop or two after it's been running hard but nothing past that (and yes it has all fluids).
Issues? No OD but the 16's help on the road as I've been able to get it to about 60mph. The knob on the D/S vent is broken off, vent still opens. Odometer does not work and the speedometer is optomistic, I was planning to send it off to be repaired this summer but it has never been a problem for me.The prior owner had the rear crossmember repaired with angle iron,it's not correct but the work is very good and looks very similar to the MOD rear x.

Overall it is a very solid IIa, if you want a concours quality restoration, this is an excellent candiate, if you (like me) want a solid, strong runner that will not be a major project to drive, take on the trail and generally have a blast in than this is your Rover.
