1971 Landcruiser FJ40 - supercharged V8 automatic, 31K miles - $41K

Very rare survivor! This 1971 FJ40 has been a California car since new and it shows - incredibly rust-free. For most of the last 25 years, the Landcruiser has been stored in a climate-controlled shop when not being driven. 31,000 miles since new.

Exterior paint is nearly flawless with complete 7-passenger black leather interior. The supercharged V8 engine is driven by a high-flow electronic fuel pump and MSD performance ignition system, paired with an automatic transmission. Tires have less than 500 miles on them. Recent fluids changed Oct 2021, new alternator installed, new carb jets and seals.

Clear CA title in hand - located in Los Angeles.
Note for California buyers: SMOG exempt (because its older than 1976)

Asking $41K

My apologies! Forgot to include some engine pics. I'll also add some video clips of a cold startup and the exhaust note from the dual exhaust. It's hard to really capture how much this thing growls.

And here are a couple of clips showing some startups. The first clip was a cold start after sitting overnight. The subsequent clips were out front a couple of minutes later.

Here’s another video walking around the Landcruiser for a little more perspective on it.

Huge upgrade from my gutless 6 cylinder '73. The manual steering would kill me offroad too.

The engine definitely puts out some power!

The previous owner (we are the third owner) gave us a warning you can break the tires loose if you put your foot into it too hard, even at 45-55 mph. I’ve never gone past maybe half throttle - never been much for pushing vehicles very hard. But I have a feeling he’s not wrong on how much power it’ll put out if you get into it.

It makes for a very fun drive around town when the engine never really even needs to get too spooled up.
