1973 Alaskan 10' cab over

My wife and I just picked up our new 1973 alaskan camper this weekend. I had to register after lurking for too long. The alaskan is replacing a 1967 travel queen 10' co we used for the last 4 years. The TQ had a jack accident and will be retired unless someone wants it for free. The alaskan is in good shape, only needs a furnace to make it good. Just need to get a boat rack for the top and a bike rack for the trailer hitch and we'll be set for camping. The one hour drive home proved the alaskan will be easier to drive due to the lower center of mass compared to the TQ. Probably weighs the same though. I have air bags @70psi and run about 70psi in the rear tires. Need to replace the rear shocks with something better. Thanks for all the great info and ideas.

Cool, good luck with the new camper, those old Alaskans are built like furniture, happy trails.
