The more I see these old set ups the more I think they would be the perfect Pan Am runner. Or even a very good around the world truck.
Being an old truck it will attract very little attention while traveling. Being Chevies they are well built. Parts are common and easy to come by. And I love the vintage retro camper set ups!
Seen a few old Scouts with FWC from that era too. My favs are like this one where the camper replaces the stock top.

I know the forum member who runs the list of these cool trucks will post and correct me... but the Achilles heal was/is the mileage. I seem to remember less than 10mpg.
I have been bummed my Taco gets less than 18 as it is now.... I love the concept, I just need better mileage... otherwise I would be shopping hard for one of these!
