El Gringo Spectacular!
I just picked up a Davis Unified Ignition 2F distributor from another mudder So the points, ballast etc. are on the way out....:chowtime:
A stock FJ40 rollbar is on its way to Flagstaff this weekend from yet another mudder....:wings:
5/6 Stock FJ60 chrome wheels are in the works from another mudder who wants split rims.... A little elbow grease and some spray paint will take care of the chrome....
As for suspension...I'm going to keep the bullbar that's on the front...doesn't do much for approach angle...but It'll keep the deer and elk off my hood...
I do plan on running a front winch (and likely a rear Milemarker 8K....they're just so inexpensive...), as well as rear water tank, drawers, swing away tire carrier etc. I'm guessing about 300lbs.
But...I think if I really want carrying capacity...I may be better off slightly modifying the suspension that's on it...I haven't been able to figure out the brand, but it's giving the truck about a 4" lift with ******** Cepeck shocks and some type of "anti inversion" shackle on the rear.
It also rides (with no weight) like the axles are bolted to the frame...
Hmm...food for thought....
BTW...here is a pic of the rear spring pack....anyone recognize the springs/shackles?
