1987 4runner SR5 in San Diego, CA
Please read thoroughly.
Modifications made by previous owner were:
22re Engine rebuilt at 305,000 miles. (I bought it at 310,000 miles and now odometer reads 316,000 miles)
Magna Flow Exhaust
1.5” stock torsion bar front lift
Extra Leaf added to Rear Leaf Pack to level out the front lift
31”x 10.50 BFG AT Tires with Black American Racing 15x8 rims
Front passenger side fender is new OEM part. The previous owner did not disclose that the passenger side was replaced but he did replace it with a new fender. I found out when I went to install a new LED side marker bulb.
Removed the air conditioning compressor. I still have it and it is included in the sale.
There is a half repaired “ding” in the tail gate that was covered up with a sticker.
Converted Electric Windows to Manual.
Got rid of the butterfly window, it is a single piece of manual roll up glass.
K&N Airfilter.
Modifications I have since made:
Brand New Front ARB Bull Bar $1100 from 4wheel parts (Just installed 2 months ago)
Trail Gear Rear Tube Bumper $300 from 4wheel parts (Just installed 2 months ago)
New 31” x 10.50 BFG AT/KOs with 4000 miles on them.
Got rid of the OEM auto locking hubs and replaced with a set of used Aisin hubs purchased from Ebay. They run solid and I still have the OEM auto hubs included in the sale.
Bilstein 4600 shocks all around which were installed 3000 miles ago.
New Upper and Lower balljoints (OEM Toyota Part, old ones were still good but the rubber boots were ALMOST starting to crack, so I swapped them, I am including them in the sale). This was done 3000 miles ago.
New Front Outer Axles (OEM Toyota Part) This was done 3000 miles ago.
New outer wheel bearings (OEM Toyota Part, the old ones were fine but when I replaced the ball joints I decided to do it anyways) This was done 3000 miles ago.
New gas gauge sending unit. (OEM Toyota Part) This was done 3000 miles ago.
4 brand new Polk Audio speakers with a Sony head unit. No amplifier, I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. Magnetic antennae from Vintage Sounds.
When I brought the truck the rear engine main seal was leaking. I had that replaced with OEM Toyota Part and now there are zero leaks. After fixing the leak, I had the undercarriage steam cleaned.
All new LED bulbs for the interior and dash, no more dim bulbs (dash & cabin)
Hard top is in very good condition.
Rear roll up window relay was broken so I decided to convert it to a tinted lexan manual open window. All the hardware was bought from Leer. Lexan glass was professionally cut from Ridout Plastics in San Diego. If you want, I still have all the OEM hardware and glass to convert back to the roll up window.
I have removed the rear wind shield wiper assembly but still have it if you want to reinstall it.
Truck has a ding in the front drivers side fender from some careless ******* who pulled a hit and run in a parking lot.
Truck needs some mud flaps. When you put it in 4wd the front tires will roost the rear fender with rocks you can see that in one of the photos.
I have put some TLC in to this rig but made need sell in order to fund another expedition style build I have going.
Not interested in parting out.
Pros:
Engine starts and runs great.
Transmission runs and shifts great.
Body has zero rot.
Paint is good but not perfect.
All lights and electrical work great.
Cons:
Drivers side fender dinged by *******.
Drivers side seat is worn out.
Passenger side seat slider is not working
Cruise control is not working
Dash pad has minor crack (compared to the crack that I usually see on other 4runners this one is VERY minor.
Please send me a PM if you have any further questions.
