Yeah, the stops are simply a nut welded in place on a bolt. One or two washers is usually all that’s needed to adjust. Pull the bolt out of the knuckle, toss on one or two washers, thread the bolt back in. Check tire clearance to frame at full lock... adjust/repeat.

Found a full headliner with center console and rear speaker today for $75! It’s in great shape, and I pulled as much wiring as I could, but getting this all to work will be a task for me.

Well I picked up another CL find. 5x 31/10.50/15 Wild Country XTX radials on Jeep wheels. I don’t have a lift yet, but I installed them anyways. I’ll adjust the turning stop nut in front, and get to doing a little trimming. Most likely the front fenders at the front and top, as well as the cut and fold in the rear. Hiring to get a 3” lift soon. I’m thinking Rusty’s, IRO, Zone... I’m hoping to stay as close to $500 as possible with rear leafs. Any advice out there?

Tight fit with 31’s on a stock suspension, but hopefully with a little trimming, and a lift in the future they will work out well.
Any advice on a 3” ish lift? I hope to spend as close to $500 as possible including new rear leaf springs. IRO, Rusty’s, Zone, RE?? Who’s got what and what do you?

I've done the 4" RE on two cherokees and had good luck with them. Never used the SB disconnects just took the bars off. Whichever you pick get with at least lower control arms, the factory stamped ones with fold up under repeated arcticulation stresses. And get complete rear leafs not just add a leafs. By this age you main leafs are weak and the others may have cracks in them

Welp, nothing to report on the Jeep. However I did just get my most expensive Jeep mod.A new baby girl! Hopefully I’ll have some time in the shop sometime soon, but at the moment, I’m a little busy. Progress shots soon!

Well, get a small amount of work done on the Jeep. I changed out the high pressure power steering line, as it was puking oil on the exhaust manifold. And I got the first cute done for my rock sliders. I’m using some 1.5x1.5x.120 wall tubing. Now I’ve just got to figure out how to mount it to my frame. Drill out big hole and sleeve it for bolts? Or just use a lot of screws? Ideas??

I followed this method. Although I used structural epoxy and self taping screws from the inside then welded along the door seal. Worked exceptionally well.

Okay!! Finally some progress. Sorry I’ve been absent, we had a baby girl in March, and life has been crazy sense. We bought a new house, I moved my business, and have been buying tool like crazy to outfit it, so no time for the Jeep, until now!

So I got a new Iron Rock Off Road 3 inch lift, went add a leaf for money sake, but I’ll never do that again, such a pain to do in the driveway. But now, I’m pretty sure the original, springs and shocks are gone, and everything is new. It looks great, and rides nice as well. Dropped it off for a front alignment today. Got a little shimmy, so I ordered some new bushings and a new front steering stabilizer today. But enough talk, here are some pictures and measurements.

The only rear hiccups were, having to cut a hole in the floor after the passenger side upper shock bolts broke off, and fishing a new one in was seeming impossible after dealing with that for an hour and a half. The track bar bolt would not come out no matter how hard I tried, and I had to take off the lower control arms to get the springs in after some creative ratchet strap compression. Now onto the rack, I got two new fabrication tables built, and just one small job to complete, and then it’s on. Gotta love fixture tables, new tool boxes, steel racks.... oh my, now I just need a steel saw, I thinking an Ellis bandsaw... thoughts?

And my tig has been getting better too
