Don't get too overwhelmed with the single vs dual wheel issue. Single wheels is less likely to get rocks caught up in it if you do any offroading.

My 2wd minimod handles ok. It has airbags in the back that I can pump up, and that can help the sway when loaded down. I think I really just need to replace the shocks. It tends to start to "wallow" if I hit a road dip at speed. I'm sure the giant metal box on the back doesn't help too much...

Family RV...nice. I've seen someone on here that traveled with 3(?) kids in the ambo?

Was the shipping extra $$ because of size/weight? I bought my 1983 FJ60 back in 2000 and had it shipped x-country (OR to NJ) for less than airfare and gas would've been.

Shipping has been a nightmare!! It’s still sitting at the auction yard. Apparently transport has been take. Over by brokers that over promise and under deliver. Hopefully someone will take my “many thousands of dollars” and get it here soon.

Hey: side thought... anyone want to trailer it to CA? I’ll pay and I have BEER!! ?

Mine drives nicely.
It was a dually to begin with so I think it has a heavier spring pack in the rear. It has a huge sway bar on the rear. Also the Agile RIP kit was helpful. I’m sure if there are any handling issues they can be worked out.

Sorry for the lull. I got socked back into my other life and work all week. I’m at a bit of a design stall out too. I want to start removing cabinets, to “open it up” but I’m discovering that this was built to survive a nuke!!

This cabinet behind the pass seat is the current offender. Plus I’m six three and getting through the passage way is not easy or a particularly graceful event.

Ideas??

I’ll lose my heater if I remove it which is fine but I’m not sure what’s behind it or how to beautify the hole after.
