1997 4Runner in Loveland, CO 80537
I've been building for most of a year. I've been setting it up for 4x4 touring and overland travel. It's been a lot of fun to build, and it's nearly done. I know that 330,000 miles seems high, but nothing but the body have that many miles. It is an ultra reliable SUV.
In the past 5,000 miles it has had the following new parts installed,
JDM 3.4 engine w/61,000 miles on it today
Aisin Water Pump with all new tensioners and Toyota timing belt
Fuel filter and Denso fuel pump and tank was cleaned
Felpro head gaskets, valve cover, and all intake gaskets
Deck plate mod
Spectre air filter
Denso remanufactured starter
New exhaust gaskets
Heater control valve
Stainless brake lines and all new Wearever brakes
3 core Champion aluminum high performance radiator
Toyota remanufactured steering rack
New Toyota oil cooler
Rack bushings
All new heater hoses, and coolant hoses and new coolant
Toyota hood grommets
GSI tie rod ends
Bilstien 5100 shocks and struts 3" lift
Toytec front diff drop
Old Man Emu 981 rear 3" lift springs
Koyo front wheel bearings and all new wheels seals pressed in
All new Moog upper and lower ball joints and control arm bushings
New spark plug wires and plus NGK
Adventure Concepts Drawer System with closet
Smittybilt Roof Tent, used a handful of times
Transmission filter and gasket
Front end alignment
New trailer light wiring
265/75/16 Falken Wildpeak Tires
Front and rear bumpers with hitches. I intended to get a winch on a receiver, but I never wheeled the truck hard enough to justify it. The truck is coated in Raptor spray on bedliner, and its a really tough coating. I think it looks really cool too. It has some dents and dings, but for a camping truck, it looks great. It has all new fluid in absolutely everything. Just passed Colorado emissions, and I have the paperwork. So that's the good.
Now some bad. When I replaced the transmission gasket, it started to leak. I read up on it, and it sounds like I should have bought the Felpro gasket. Easy fix. Has leaked less than a quart in 5 months. The windshield wiper switch is bad, and I have a new one, but it's not installed. The rear window only rolls down when it feels like it. probably an easy fix. One of the headlights is plastic and has yellowed. It works fine though. Some small chips in the windshield. Interior shows some wear. Again, I'm sure I'm forgetting things.
So, if you read all of that, and you want to check it out, or if you have questions, hit me up. Happy to sell without the tent as well. I'm am happy to hear offers, but I have nearly my asking price in parts.
