1997 Discovery Door Auto unlocks

So I have an interesting set up on my 1997 Discovery It came with a Disco 2 key. The key starts the truck and will unlock the truck, but not Lock it. I would be okay with this set up it I could lock the door and them not auto unlock when I shut the drivers door. I get this is so i don't lock my keys in the truck, but dose anyone know a work around to disable to auto unlock feature??? I just need to be able to lock the doors.

Hmmmm. I can lock my '96 D1 using the key in the driver's door lock.

Edit: I just reread your post. I'm not sure there is a work-around for the auto unlock. Your key won't lock the truck manually in the driver's door lock?

Can you strip the door panel and simply disconnect the actuator?
