1997 E450 Quigley Box Ambulance Fully Converted

The time has come to sell my E450. Thought I'd keep it forever. Life changes. Going back to a Bigfoot camper on a Dodge Cummins. The ambulance has never let me down, but I'm more involved now with classic cars, and the ambo build is quite heavy by itself, let alone pull a 26' enclosed trailer with 2 cars inside!

Was featured several times a Expo W & E, I may take it to the next one, if it doesn't sell.
Asking $90K, It'll go for less, but I've seen half finished builds with porta potties & outside showers at higher ask.

Currently in Olympia, WA. Just starting to de-winterize between the raindrops. Got some work this weekend to on it. Pics next week. This rig has been all over the US several times, including 2 trips to Alaska. About 140K miles on the 7.3 & rig itself, Vacuum pump failed so just replaced it, water pump, tensioner, 2 idlers & belt while I had it torn apart.

Here's some details-converted when new by Quigley to 4x4. I did Agile off-road RIP package, makes an unbelievable difference in ride quality. Added extra leaf in rear spring pack and triple receiver to carry heavier motorcycle or spares or both. Running 255 85 16 tires on Alcoa rims. Can carry 130 gallons of diesel in switched tanks. Onan 2.8 gasoline generator, Coleman cool cat 10K AC and heat pump, full truck camper bathroom, 8 cubic foot fridge, three burner stove with oven, deep kitchen sink, microwave, 21 inch TV with dish Network HD satellite and receiver. 2 7 gallon LP tanks, forced air RV furnace, 6 gallon water heater, fresh, black and gray water tanks. Stormtite dual pane windows throughout box. Aluminess front bumper with winch, also kayak roof mounted rack with winch. Raised roof made from a couple of truck shells and cut out with a bunk for a smaller person above fold out bed. Rear hatched area could carry a couple of broken down mountain bikes. Have a heavy duty triple receiver motorcycle carrier for the rear, carried my Dakar 650 quite nicely.
I've yet to untarp it from winter and get some green off, exterior pictures to follow...

Also has Tripplite inverter/converter for AC power & battery charging, 2 Unisolar flexible solar panels up top, that stuck real well to the paint, notsomuch to the fiberglass below. They peeled back a bit, some wrinkling, but still function well, so I haven't replaced them.

Spring is here, time to get your rig for summer adventures... I'm flexible on price... You won't find a more complete conversion at any price!

The goal was to build a rig unlike any RV out there. Just about anything built recently is built for light weight, & will just fall apart with rough use. Twice to Alaska, up to Deadhorse & Kennicott on very rough roads. No failures doing 50+ on washboard roads. Ambulances are built like TANKS!
Other goal was big fridge & full bath with shower. I looked at a Sportmobile's fridge...a gallon of milk & it's about full. One thing you don't want to do in Alaska in summer is poop or shower outside. YOU WILL GET EATEN ALIVE. Remember the mosquito is the state bird! Also stove with oven, gotta have pizza!
Probably best set up for 2, or 2 with a smaller person up top. The rear hatched area could possibly be converted to sleep a kid or 2.

Update- Just spent $5K on 6 new Toyo MT's & COMPLETE brake job, 4 new rotors, calipers, pads, repacked bearings & seals. Didn't want to burn up the new shoes, so didn't make the Flagstaff show. I may take it to the Oregon show in July if it doesn't sell. Price $80K OBO also comes with 2 good matching spares

Really needs to be seen & driven to appreciate...

Compartment pics....34-taken this AM, 35- 2nd engine battery& crank for awning, 36- Onan 2.8 Gasoline genset W/ 6 gal marine style tank, 37- Coleman Cool Cat 10K AC/heat pump up top/House battery & solar controller in middle/ 2 7 gal propane tanks (vented below), 38- stove rear & water tank & pump, 39- Water heater, black tank & black drain(inside, so you don't bust it offroad) 40- left side

Update on systems-

1- Propane filled & holding, water heater starts on switch, brings water to temp & shuts down. AC hotrod for tank also good.
2-Forced air propane furnace starts & runs from thermostat.
3-Fresh water tank full, pump runs on switch & shuts down on pressure. Kitchen & bath(shower) good pressure. Toilet good, working properly. Grey & black tanks good, no leaks.
4- 2.8 Onan gasoline genset starts & runs. Kicks the Coleman 10K heatpump/AC fine. Heat & cool functions well.
5-Stove/oven good, Microwave good(on genset)
6-8 cubic ft fridge/freezer ice cold on gas, test on ac current later. Yes 8 cf, BIG Fridge
7- Tripplite inverter/charger good, powers 21" Samsung TV & Dish 211 receiver. Dish on back is HD auto seeking. Can be left in low travel position if rear is south facing. Can be raised up to roof level if parking an issue.
8- All lighting in box LED & working. Bath fan & Fantastic Fan above door does a good job moving air.
