Still haven’t been out on the trails due to work and the stupid virus (mostly work).
I decided to have my front bumper reworked. The “stinger” looked OK but didn’t offer any protection to the front corners (lights, fenders). I took the truck back to the guy that built the bumpers and had him rework it to include a brush guard in place of the stinger. I think he did a great job matching the lines of the grill in the bumper.
And having that 30 gallon gas tank on my old Expedition spoiled me. My Explorer only has a 21 gallon tank with a 5 gallon jerry can. I wanted to have a little extra capacity, so I had my bumper guy add a 2nd jerry can. I also had him add a hi-lift mount and a locking pin to hold the swingout open. Turned out pretty well.
