1997 Land Cruiser Question

I've spotted a 1997 Land Cruiser FJ80 for sale close to me. It looks to be in very good condition. Front & rear diff locks. Interior looks in good condition too. I've only seen photos at this point. It has 176,000 miles on it. What is a reasonable and fair asking price for it. Is there any glaring issues with this truck that should be checked. What type of mileage should I expect from the engine. Thanks!

Too many plans, not enough time
if it has the maint records, you should easily be able to double that mileage. in excellent condition (yes, I know it's a 1997) 8000-10000, especially if it is a 40th Anniversary or Collectors Edition. and it will be WAAAA....AAAAY more reliable than your LR (generally speaking)

Perhaps a little more than 10K, depending on how vigorous the market is in your area. In the Southwest, 80-series LCs are very popular. Check for oil usage, water in the oil, etc.

Oh, and is it a Canadian or U.S. Land Cruiser? American models have "tires," while Canadian ones have "tyres."

Thanks, it's a US import but even though I've had a semi vague email reply from the owner, the license plate in some photos seems to show Ontario but the paper floor mat lists a detailing shop in Chicago so it could just be another scam auto posting. Seems these days every fourth or fifth vehicle posting is someone running a scam.

Yes, scams everywhere.
So, are you interested in buying some powdered water? Much lighter than the liquid stuff...
