For sale is a truck I bought for a project from a friend that was leaving it to die. It’s a 98 LE that now has 224k on it. It runs great and I’ve been daily driving for over a year. I would consider it still a project as there’s a few little things that I haven’t had the chance to get to and really why I’m selling it. It has minimal rust in the usual places. I’ve know. The history of the truck since 2004, before then it was in the Raleigh area. I just don’t have the time to keep fixing it with now 2 kids under 3 and 2 more rovers to keep fixing too.
I have added some OME springs to give it a little lift. It has some older Bilstien shocks in the front with new TF rears.
It’s got what I think is a Rovers North winch bumper on it.
I added the old school D1 wheels with older XZL tires.

The bad
Sunroofs are sealed as they leaked
Paint is not in good condition but for a trail truck it’s fine.
it does leak oil like most of these older trucks do but it’s very manageable
I haven’t had an issue with the tires but they are older XZL so you may want to replace but I’ve driven to uwharrie and back a few times and it gets driven every other day with no issues.
there is some surface rust under the back cargo area when you pull the carpet.
one door jam is showing a little rust in the usual spot.
Front seats don’t match as original were trashed, replaced with some from a LSE.
walmart floor mats.
No cruise control
I’ve got a box with spare parts and the light guards for the rear. I have the manual with a lot of service records dating back to 2004.
I’m asking $5500 OBO and I’m in Goldsboro NC
