1998 montero compass not coming up

1998 Montero compass used to show up sometimes, randomly, not sure it is related but after valve cover gasket work not it is dead, even when I press 'S" button.

any help will be appreciated gratefully. is this fuse issue? any where that might be?

maybe the connection in the back of it came undone?
