I did not read full description but this thing is sweet. It has the desirable lounge layout while it limits extra sleeping bed the lounge chairs are crazy comfortable and I think makes inside roomier than dinette layout, plus relaxing in reclining chairs are awesome, it even has oven which is nice for those interested.

The condition of this thing is insane, 76k miles and only 168 hrs on generator. This had to be garaged, the roof and paint look new. What's amazing is it does not appear to have any bubbling or delaminating of the stripes/stickers that are so common on one this age.

For 4x4 Chinook in this condition, which I think is really really good looking at pics, I think this is $45k rig all day long. Without lift they would probably get $28 - $32k, maybe $35, add $20k min. for 4x4 and even $45k is fair price. I might discount due to this being a 1999 but how often do they comes up in 4x4 and this condition?

If I saw bid stall at $35k on this, I would seriously consider buying, and sell my current rig, assuming pictures accurate. But I don't see this going in the 30"s, maybe not 40's.

Did they ever make the Chinook w a 7.3L?

It does not appear looking at brochures that the 7.3 was available, but the 6.0 Liter Power Stroke Diesel was listed as upgrade option in 1998 and 2000 so I am sure it was available in 1999, the 4x4 and backup camera were available options also.

It’s going to go for more than $37,500 probably $10-12k more...

This past week a gutted ambo 1992 E350 w 7.3 IDI go for $17500 at auction on Ritchie Bros (worth about 7k tops) same week another ambo on iron planet went for about the same price... again worth about (8k) people are paying silly prices for rigs without even seeing them in person. So my gut tells me $47-50k for this rig.

I’m not saying it worth that price as it needs work. Shocks all the way around plus steering damper, those Monroe shocks are junk. Needs new rear leaf springs, current set up is shot & arching the wrong way, the quigley control arms need to be replaced as it has the old square arms that will crack, if not already cracking. Another thing to get the big ole pig to drive right is rear air bags.

call them up & make them an offer they did list there 1 800 # in the eBay ad they may bite. Personally this is a $35-40k sorted out. In its current condition $30k. Just my 2cents.

I don't think this is good info. As I know, the 7.3 was discontinued in 2003 and both 6.0's and 7.3's were available in 2003 model years as this was the transitional year. That is based on my knowledge of trucks vs vans so I maybe wrong someone else may need to chime in. I have a 7.3 2002 6speed Ford F550 work truck one of the best vehicles I ever owned also love my 3.4 v6 5sp 2004 Toyota Tundra.

Also there is engine problems with earlier Ford V10's can't recall exactly what but remember hearing about it.

You are correct, I checked the Chinook RV forum and sure enough you could get the 7.3 up to 2003 I believe, they are very rare but out there, unicorns really.

What is interesting is that the marketing and sales brochures listed the 6.0 D. as the only engine upgrade - no mention of the the 7.3 even on their biggest rigs.

I get notes on my F550 7.3 offering to buy it at Home Depot, contractor warehouse, lumberyard etc. I won't let any of my employees drive it either. 'My truck'. I only drive it when I need a truck that size so I have 72k original miles on it. Only complaint would be the parking brake sucks on that year or it's under engineered for the truck.

Ford did not offer a 6.0 liter in the e350. It was 7.3l only for vans In 2003. It was a transition year for trucks, but not vans. The 6.uh_oh came out in vans in 2004. I have both both a 2003 7.3l & 2004 6.uh_oh. Both are great vans & have been converted to 4x4. These are you engine choices for Ford e series vans.

How much does a Chinook conversion run from a good installer?

Do you think I'd be able to tow a boat with a v10 with a conversion in the high rockies? Just a small under 5000# boat.
