1999 jeep cherokee 4x4

i purchased a 1999 jeep cherokee 4x4 . 4.0L 144K miles
It was used as a code enforcement vehicle in a small rural town in west tennessee.
I want to make it into a mild wheeler and camping/exploration vehicle.
It needed front hub/unit bearings and drivers window wouldnt roll up.

Looks a lot like my Cherokee! Mine was a City rig as well, they used it to drive up a gravel road up the canyon to a chlorinator.

What did you use to paint the flares? Mine have gone all gray too!

i used Rustoleum spray paint. i think it was a satin finish. worked really well. i took my flares off and lightly sanded then painted. seems to be holding up well...we shall see.

treat her to a complete fluid change to full synthetic(virtually any major brand should work as well as another)

my y2k is running Royal Purple @ 265k

there is a bulletin about heat shield/insulators for the #3 injector needing to be upgraded to keep it from vapor locking that one injector and flagging the engine light

the harmonic balancer is mounted in rubber which gets tired over time... keep an eye on it

I have a 99 as well as a 97. Jeep made a number of small improvements between those years that make the 99 a bit more desirable.

If yours is an ex-GOV Jeep, does it have vinyl flooring and if so, would you please please sell it to me!!!

no vinyl flooring. Sorry. it does have the gas tank , t-case and front skid plates.
no sure what other option distinguishes these models from others.

Its been awhile since i have posted any updates on my cherokee. dont have any pics(sorry...i know everyone loves pics).
My recently added upgrades are:
Moog upper and lower ball joints
tune up-ACCEL wires, plugs, cap and rotor
Gorilla lug nuts
tire rods and alignment
K suspension XJ cable upgrade.
