1999 Jeep Cherokee - Expedition Americas

So, I won this Jeep Cherokee in the raffle put on this year (2013) by the North America XJ Association (http://www.naxja.org/)

I believe in paying it forward, and I want to see more of this country, so I'm going to use this Jeep to explore places in the Americas where trail access is being threatened, promoted, or being maintained. I've created the site expedition-americas.com to promote this effort.

I'll be posting more at that site, and here as I have questions and thoughts on traveling this country.

Peace,
Keith Mitchell

Sexy Jeep bro. Thats quite an awesome prize. EASILY 10k in off road add ons. Do you have an specs of all the aftermarket parts?

The short answer is just about everything you could need to go just about anywhere on this continent. And it's all solidly built.

I just need to hunt them down and create a page or something. T

Glad this one is working longer than the last two NAXJA raffle Jeeps. They both broke on their respective drives back home.

yikes.

so far, this has done good. From what I understand, several shops, chapter members, and other sponsors donated a bunch of blood, sweat, tears, and stuff to get this done right. They drove it to the NAXJA event at moab this year. I had it driven from Moab to Salt Lake City, and so far I've put about 200 miles on it, city/rural/highway driving so far.

Congrats on the luck Keith.. enjoy it.

The search for the right donor rig was exhausting.. and took better than a year. Unfortunate that the last two Giveaway rigs had issues and we sure had some resistance attempting this again.. but knew it could be done right. Lots of good people donated in many ways to make the attempt successful.

I didn't get to see the finished rig as it was built out west, if you ever get out east hit me up..

Yes, I would like to get to Mexico and points south. But 2014 will start in the USA. 2015 Canada and USA I've got big plans, so stay tuned.

I am KeithIndy over at naxja.org

So far I'm very impressed with the build quality.

I'm a long time off road enthusiast and long time supporter of responsible land use (I helped off-road.com and Del Albright with the initial online presence of the Land Use Network)
