Location: Eugene/Salem, OR.
Price: $8,000

Up for sale is a 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ SE with 113,xxx miles. CLEAN & CLEAR Title. This vehicle is unmolested and is/has been well cared for since I purchased it two years ago. The exterior of the XJ is in phenomenal shape… you won't find another one as clean and straight!

Powerplant: 4.0L Straight Six Engine, Aisin-Warner 4 (AW4) Transmission, and NP-231 Transfer Case

Axles: High-Pinion Dana 30 front with SOLID differential cover and LubeLocker Gasket. Chrysler 8.25 rear with SOLID differential cover and LubeLocker Gasket. The High-Pinion Dana 30 front, coupled with the Chrysler 8.25 rear is a much better option than the Low-Pinion Dana 30 front, and then Dana 35 rear.

Suspension: 2” Old Man Emu Suspension lift. OME NitroCharger Shocks in all four corners, OME leaf springs with OME D-22XL Add-A-Leaf to handle the extra weight in the rear when loaded, OME Front Coils, OME 10mm Front Spacer, OME Steering Stabilizer, and JKS Quicker Disconnects. The guys at ARB, who produce the Old Man Emu suspension components, make some of the most phenomenal lift components when it comes to comfort and reliability. You won't find better quality components when it comes to a suspension lift on this vehicle.

Tires: 5 30x.9.5x15 BFGoodrich T/A KO All Terrains. These tires were purchased from Americas Tire, and are also under their “Certificates for Repair, Refund, or Replacement” warranty.

Wheels: 5 15x7 Jeep OEM “Sawblades”. I also have 2 or 3 additional Sawblades that I can include with the purchase.

Accessories: AJ's Offroad Armor XJ Super RockRails stand guard to protect the rocker panels, as well as reinforcement to the uni-body. Complete H4 headlight conversion. The components consist of ARB Wiring Harness, IPF X4 Xenox Bulbs, and IPF 820H H4 Housings. IPF 968CSG auxiliary lights were added to further light up the roadway on those dark, stormy nights. The factory stereo and speakers were replaced with Alpine CDE-102 head deck, with Alpine Type-S speakers. Quadratec HD Floor mats were added to keep the floors nice and clean. Mopar OEM Front Skid Plate was added to protect steering components. C4x4 Tow Hooks Brackets and Hooks, were added to provide solid front recovery tow points. Uniden Pro520XL CB Radio, as well as coax wiring and 3” Firestik will be included for trail communication. DieHard Platinum D34/78DT battery was added to handle all the accessories. This is a top-notch battery! Class III Rear Hitch, wired and ready. Windows are tinted all-around, minus the front windshield.

Parts that have been replaced since ownership:
Tires
Wheels
Suspension
Headlights
Battery
Alternator
Air Filter
Serpentine Belt
Water Pump
Front U-Joints
Neutral Safety Switch
Tune-Up (Sparks, Plugs, Cap, and Wires)
Rear Drum Brakes

All records and receipt will be included in the sale of this vehicle.

It is also must be noted that I transferred in a new set of “full” OEM gauges to monitor the RPMs, battery voltage, engine temperature, and oil pressure. Originally when I first purchase the vehicle I had what is called “dummy” gauges, which only showed the MPH and Fuel. Because of this reason, the current odometer reads incorrect (trip ok). So I don't know the correct mileage? Wrong. I have a specific notebook that is solely dedicated to recording the correct mileage ever since I made the transfer. This notebook records the miles I achieved in a tank of gas, the date, and the current mileage. I figured I rather have gauges that have function and can let me know when/if there is a problem, rather than something that's states only two stats. The speedometer can always be re-calibrated to what the current mileage is, as logged in my notebook.

If you have made it to the end and still have interest, congratulations. If you can't tell yet, I love this vehicle and made sure it was always taken care of mechanically and cosmetically. I tried to keep this vehicle as OEM as possible, with tasteful modifications in between. No corners where cut on the XJ, as all products I applied to this Jeep were and are top-notch quality. This vehicle has never once left me stranded, and in it's current state, it won't leave you stranded too. This is not a 2000, or 2001 XJ model, where there is a widespread problems with the 0331 head casting failure. 1999 is the best year that the Jeep Cherokee XJ was produced, so I invite you to stop by and check it out!

The CVT Mt.Bachelor Roof Top Tent and custom full-size roof rack that are shown in one of the picture are options.
$8700 with CVT Mt. Bachelor Roof Top Tent and Full-size Roof Rack.
$8000 without CVT Mt. Bachelor Roof Top Tent and Full-Size Roof Rack.

If you any request about further information on the vehicle, or want additional picture, please feel free to let me know.

Not interested in any trades, sorry.

Additional pictures can be found in the build thread, as well as Flickr account.

$8000 for a jeep...seems like a fair price...youve made some real nice additions to it...headlight conversion, "full" guages, tint, tow hooks, and a sweet battery.

I think you can get your asking price :)

Thanks for all the kind comments. As much as I do not want to let it go, the timing is right as life is starting to happen :). It's a bummer, but someone is without a doubt going to be getting one clean XJ.

I've seen your "convince me to buy a 4Runner" thread, so I knew this was coming...

I always loved your XJ and I loved how similarly we went about doing things; right, the first time! I will keep building my XJ and you can do work on a Yota!

Oh, I think you forgot to the AJ's Sliders that you have on there, might want to add them to the post!

I am interested in making the switch to a Toyota platform, but first off and foremost, I've got to make an important step in my life that unfortunately does not have this vehicle in the plans.

Who knows, maybe nobody will bite and things will work out on my end and i'll keep it. For now though, she's on the market! Thanks for stopping by bzauche.

Very nice. Would your truck pass CA smog requiremnts?

Good question. We don't have smog testing where I would live, but everything is in good working order and there are no CELs current, so I am sure it would pass with flying colors.
