1999 Toyota Tacoma camper conversion

Hi folks-
It wasn't an easy decision, but I think it's time to sell my truck. The baby seat doesn't fit in the extracab, and my work requires an open bed. Will trade for a 4x4 quad-cab pickup.

This is a one-of-a-kind vehicle.

Asking $8,000 OBO.

Here's the craigslist ad:

This is a 1999 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 extracab that has been converted to an expedition vehicle. It will take you anywhere you want to go. Most of the features of a Westfalia, and more capable and reliable than a Syncro. Gets 19 MPG on the highway!
I have owned the truck since 2002, and just completed the conversion in September 2010. My wife and I had a baby 8 months ago, so I need something with a real back seat.
I will consider a trade for a 4x4 quad-cab pickup (pref. Tundra or F250 diesel).

Price dropped!

I've dropped the price to $8,000 or best offer. This is a great deal on a very capable off-road camper!

Man, that is really cool. Around here, the truck itself would sell for $6K. Did you keep any details about how you build the camper back? Did you built it from scratch?

SWbySWesty- That shouldn't be any problem, I towed a 2500 lb uhaul trailer 250 miles last summer up to the sierras. It wasn't fast or much fun but the truck handled it ok.

This truck really wants to go on big adventures, I'm willing to cut a deal for the right owner. The caveat is that you have to blog about your trips and show me photos of this rig in beautiful places.

Oil leak is about 1/2 quart each oil change. Not a big deal but the bottom of the motor is a little wet. Had my mechanic look at it, he thinks maybe front crank seal and estimated $600 to repair. I have the paperwork for that.

Want to deliver it to Colorado? Very tempted man, I love the back of it, would be perfect for my furniture business and for camping.

Strangely enough, we're going to be there in a couple of weeks, but we already have plane tickets. If you can talk my wife into flying with the baby and my mother, then you might have a deal.
