1999 Toyota Tacoma camper conversion

That is actually great timing. I talked to my wife about this and she (correctly) informed me that our kids are still too young to have need for a permanent camping rig such as this one. But if you hold on to it for much longer, maybe I'll talk her into it. Good luck with the sale, I hope someone picks it up soon.

Dustboy do you still have the truck? I really wish I would have waited, I just bought a 2001 Tacoma but I am seriously considering selling it and buying yours. How is everything els, brakes, tires, clutch and all that? Thanks Tyler

Oil leak is about 1/2 quart each oil change. Not a big deal but the bottom of the motor is a little wet. Had my mechanic look at it, he thinks maybe front crank seal and estimated $600 to repair. I have the paperwork for that.

Is 1/2 litre how much it is below the full mark by the time of the scheduled change? Being down 1/2 liter every change doesn't sound bad...

What is considered normal or acceptable, however, will vary from one engine application to the next. For example, Ford Motor Company considers consumption as high as one quart of oil per 1000 miles to be acceptable in a gasoline engine.

That Taco is a great rig btw. I followed your build thread as you built it. It's a bummer to see that you have to sell it (but for great reasons, eh?) but I must say that I'm looking forward to the next build ;-D

Bump for a sweet rig.

Cheers.

SOLD...

Thanks to all who were interested. She found a great new owner who is going to take her on a big adventure in South America. I will post here when I have the link to their blog.
