We're heading to the Lost Coast in late September.
Probably going to drop into Shelter Cove and head north. First time and looking forward to it.
Pretty pics.

This is the map we used. I highly recommend the Usal Rd. the blue line roads are listed on this map as "paved but rugged" which was a good description.
Mattole Beach is not on the map but worth the visit.

Exact same colors as my 2002 trooper. What did you use at first to mount the hi lift to the spare tire? I need something like that. Thanks.
I got it from Indi4x (link to the Isuzu store below) but I don't see it listed any longer. They make them, so I'm sure if you ask. I had to cut off 2 or so inches and re-weld so the jack was not sticking out too far. You might order it to the length you want so it will be flush with the tire.

Just try to remember that the pot fields you’ll be driving by out here are not “U-Pick” fields!
I watched the Murder Mountain documentary on Netflix before and again after the trip. This map is the whole of the Emerald Triangle and it is a weird place. It lives up to the reputation. We didn't have any troubles with anyone though. A friend used to live there and traveled the Honeydew bridge (the one in my profile pic) daily. She said there was a place near that bridge where she needed to spray paint a symbol on her car so she wouldn't get shot at as she drove up the road. If you stay on the mapped roads here, there is no problem.

I know this thread is a few months old but there aren't many decent troopers left and this got me excited. Here's my 99 5 spd I've had for about 6 months.

The first pic is the day I got it. Second is with 2.5 " lift (250 lb moog progressives in rear and torsion crank front) and some real tires.

We've wheeled and camped all over Southern CO in it. Hasn't let us down and it'll go anywhere.

Roof rack is next for me.

Way to go on your build. Sweet trooper.
