It is not that small. Is about the same size inside as an older jeep cherokee. Only down side is the head room, but you get use to it. Just don't flip the sun shade up too fast unless you want it in the face ;)

I am 6'1" and I fit fine in my R50.

Good to hear, I'm 6'2".

Any Pathfinder specific forums I should be checking out for information or perhaps classifieds? I'm going to be taking a look at a few locally here this weekend, but I'm willing to go the distance for a good example.

Best place for pathy info is NPORA (Nissan Pathfinder Off Road Association): http://npora.ipbhost.com/

Can get lots of more specific info as well as things to look out for.

Can't see how it has "far more" info then NPORA (just one section on a certain year of trucks on NPORA has more topics then all of them on nissanpath). But it is a good idea to look at many places.

Sorry, for my model year it has more info (08)...when I had my QX4 I looked at both all of the time.

Yeah I have been looking at the site for a little while now and it seems there are a lot of people there with the newer trucks (2005+ pathy's). That is a good thing, as for a while it didn't seem like anyone who bought the newer trucks were on any of the sites. Now I know where to send them if they can't find the info on the other sites. The more info the better for everyone :)

So it's not too small... But there's no headroom and the visor hits you in the face? Right. Makes sense.

The rear seat is more cramped than the front. Good luck getting 3 adult men in the back seat.

It wouldn't be just a grocery getter. Come summer time when she can get behind the wheel of the Miata again I'd be taking it out on the trail.

I drive small cars (Samurai's, Rabbits, 510's, Miata's et. all). In fact, the Pathfinder would be the biggest car I've ever owned, so I think I'll get on OK with the interior size. :D

FYI, there's very little aftermarket support for the R50

Define very little. All I'm looking to do is put a small 2" lift on it and a locker in the rear. I think I've seen that OME and ARB have those for it, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes headroom isn't great. One area of issue (headspace) that could use improvement, doesn't make it a sub-compact. I have owned a Jeep Cherokee, and it was practically the same size inside.

Who in the hell puts 3 "adults" in the back seat of most any SUV/small truck? No one. Why make it an issue? I also regularly drive a 2009 Ford F-150 4 door crew cab, and while there is tons of room in the back, I wouldn't put 3 adults in there unless it is for a very short trip. 3 kids on the seat sure, but not adults.

Yes aftermarket support is lacking when you compare it to other trucks/models. But there are more and more companies making parts for them every day. 4x4part.com specializes in upgrades for them (and a lot of other Nissan's), there are also several companies that make bumpers and skid plates, and as stated above ARB makes a nice set of lockers for them if you have the money for it and the need. Though if you are looking at it just for light off-roading and mainly as a daily driver, then that isn't a problem for you.

Let us know how it goes ;)
