1St Gen Tundra Tow Rig - Need Help With Suspension And Lift

Thank you everyone for your input. I pulled the trigger yesterday on a setup. I ordered bilsteins 5100's all around. 3 leaf add-a-leaf kit made by alcan And The airlift airbags. I think this will be a good setup for me since I always have 330lbs in my bed and I'm always towing a dump trailer

Sounds good! That's a nice set-up. Make sure you keep your overload spring when you install the 3-leaf pack as it does decrease load capacity. I have the same set-up and I took out my overload spring, but will re-install it again since my rear end is sagging with my campershell. The ride is great though!

If I had the money to spare I'd get airbags for the rear. I've only seen the Firestone airbags, what kind did you order?

Okay so the rear end is all done, I didn't have time to crank out the front but plan to do it this next weekend. I went slowly a few hours here a few hours there. On Friday night I just jacked up The truck and removed The wheels. Saturday morning I did the leafs and springs. Then on Sunday morning I did the airbags.

I'm just heading home from my first full day with The setup. I put on 125 miles today With my trailer and let me just say (even though I just did the rear) The ride is excellent!!! These airbags are so awesome, not only is the truck level but so smooth like I'm floating on clouds when I hit huge potholes. Here's some pics

A good friend of mine has a first gen Tundra that is his work truck and doubles as his tow rig. He frequently tows his tandem axle trailer loaded with his heavily modified FJ40. He is running stock suspension with the addition of some airbags. The bags are only used when towing and really stablizes the rear of the truck with the weight of the trailer and FJ40. Obviously it also levels out the ride height when towing. Has been working great for him.
