1st or 2nd Gen Tacoma?

I do have a couple of complaints about the second gen Tacos though... The paint seems to scratch easier and the seats are a torture device on my back. After two hours of driving my lower back is screaming and Ive had trouble standing straight after driving all day with minimal stops. I'm a carpenter and have minor back issues to begin with, so that might have something to do with it, but I hear a lot of other people complain about the seats as well. I'm almost wishing I'd gotten the massaging seats the dealer tried to sell me for $900...

Not sure if this helps as all, but as a 6'3 230lbs driver of a gen 1 extended cab, I am in the process of replacing the stock seats in my truck. After 10 years of faithful service to both myself and the previous owner, they are pretty uncomfortable after a few hours in them.

Furthermore, off road there is no bolstering to stock lateral movement in the seat.
