The only problem with that is there just aren't people who want that option. Most people still want to use their truck without that camper. Me, I'd do it, my camper rarely comes off anyway.

This seems to be such a good idea, but the final product looks half baked and not as efficient as it could be.

I wish FWC would come up with a model that skipped the flatbed for a more semi-permanent mount. I think it would make better use of the available space, could be more secure and would eliminate the odd looking gap between the cab and overhang...

IMO this version looks a bit strange mostly due to the flat bed that was used. The rear looks less integrated than the flatbeds I have seen on the Tacoma version and on XP Campers. Personally I would want the curve of the camper to come down to the bed in a more flush look. Also, it was mentioned in the Fleet (Tacoma) version that the under bed section being stepped looks strange. FWC mentioned that they didnt bring the under bed storage all the way forward because it would be hard to access. Personally, even if its hard to get to I think it would be better to have the extra storage all the way forward (access with lift up panels inside) and would prefer the nonstepped look to the outside. Maybe in version 2.0? However... that being said I would still love to have one of these. For me, the increased interior space and flatbed with storage boxes outweighs some of the quirks of the design.

My guess is the flatbed wasn't from FWC (or their specific spec'ed one) but was bought by the truck owner. I do agree that there are better choices for flatbeds out there and I would have one that offered storage below the bed line.

The owner of this camper had this flatbed custom made. I am sure you could have one made with a variety of boxes, slide outs to your liking for more money. He was on somewhat of a budget and was able to purchase a brand new 2014 Cummins, FWC UTE Flat Bed Camper and Custom Flatbed out the door for right around $70,000.

Thanks for sharing! I have one in the works too. Should be ready in about a month.
Here is the base, still needs the underbody boxes mounted.
Love your choice of truck.

If the featured truck is meeting the owners needs that's good enough for me.

Having said that, I don't care for the look. I think if the truck was white it might look more integrated. The whole set up doesn't look like anything quite fits the other pieces. (coming from the guy with a camper made for a Ford Ranger in the bed of a 3/4 ton truck!:sombrero:)
