Day 13...
Our last day before we start the long horrible drive back to Mississippi.
Aspens in the back yard of the cabin
We knew the road was not open all the way to Crystal Mill, but we decided to see how far it was open.
We made it past Lizard Lake
My girls enjoying Colorado!
Not much past here we came to an avalanche almost blocking the entire valley. So we turned around and had lunch at Slow Groovin BBQ in Marble. Then took a drive to Aspen so the wife could see it.
The side of the road between Marble and Carbondale.
After aspen it was back to the cabin for our last night in Colorado. And vacation is over. Its a horrible feeling when such an epic trip comes to an end. We all had a fantastic time. We saw enough at all of our stops to not feel rushed but left enough for a return trip to any or all of them. We clocked 4977.0 miles, 9 states, 7 National Parks, 1 National Monument visited, and 1 National Monument driven through, and I don't know how many National Forests, and we counted 41 different state license plates, 4 Canadian Provinces, and a Sonora Mexico plate. I guess its time to start planning next years trip. Utah again? Colorado for 2 weeks? Yellowstone, Tetons, and Glacier? Or west coast? Gonna be a tough decision...
