I don’t think it’s an issue. From what I’ve read as long as there’s no smoke out the back or any lights on the dash it should pass smog just fine. Seems like plenty of people are running 7.3s without issue.
Unfortunately, it's an issue with California.

They're exceptionally strict. The VINs are tagged w/ 49-state or 50-state.

49-State VINs are immediately flagged "do-not-collect-$200-go-directly-to-jail" during the Smog check and are unable to receive a smog certification. Plenty of people are running 7.3s without an issue.. in the other 49 states.

Maybe you are right. Just going off of this and what I’ve been following on some 7.3 Facebook groups that I’m a part of.

Diesel non-OBD vehicles (2012 and older diesel engines) are required to complete a smoke opacity test and a visual inspection of the vehicle’s emissions control equipment, referred to in this program as the Vehicle Emissions Control Equipment Inspection. Alternative fuel non-OBD vehicles (2017 and older alternative fuel engines) are only required to complete the visual inspection and are not subject to the smoke opacity test requirement.

Nice looking build. I’m curious about the Sienna front seats. Did you mount them directly to the floor or are they up on a box/pedestal. Do they slide? I have a set sitting in storage and since no one wants to buy them I think I might put them into my new build.

Also, in regards to 7.3s in CA… it should say on the emissions sticker either (on the hood or upper radiator support) if it is 49 or 50 state compliant. I personally have never seen a 49 state but they are out there and the other commenter is correct it’s a complete No Go with the CA DMV.

That is absolutely killer! Sickest van Ive seen in a while. I had a similar setup on my SMB; 7.3L, Sportsmobile RB50 layout, pop-top, Quigley 4x4, 35" Mickeys. Sold it 2 years ago for the same price.

GLWS. If I was still looking for one of these, I'd snag it. Seriously ************.
