Whut are those? I was worried about 2 Fyrlyts and a few Hella work lights over my bed dragging down my alternator! Holy amp draw batman!

I'm not sure you have enough lights.

Those are the external heaters to preheat the air before entering the radiator to keep the engine warm on cold nights! Awesome look. I think you could go with just a few less though. Or put a rotisserie attachment on the front bar and cook like 6 chickens just before you get to camp.

Awesome ideas. I could burn a hole through the California fog while cooking my dinner.

I made some rocker guards/steps up for my Excursion using an aftermarket tube step and 3"X3" square tube steel as a starting point. Seam welded everything together with gusseting and so far they have held up to the occasional hit.

Thanks

The skid plate is a modified Warn '08-10 Ford Super Duty Oil Pan/Transmission/Transfer Case Skid Plate (PN 76590). After notching it for roll bar clearance and slightly modifying the transmission cross member it bolted in no frame drilling required.

Thanks for the part number for the modified Warn '08-10 Ford Super Duty Oil Pan/Transmission/Transfer Case Skid Plate (PN 76590). I just ordered one from Amazon & it should be here tomorrow. Hopefully it bolts up pretty easily to my '00 X too, with minimal modification.

Do you happen to know if the WARN 76585 Front Skid Plate, also for '08-10 Ford Super Duty, is close to a bolt-up fit on the earlier Excursion too?

I have an extra Asfir front alum skid for the '00 X- PM me if interested. I used the one that came with the bumper, but the other is actually better in that it protects more. Brand new w/ hrdw.

I do not know if it will work on a stock Excursion bumper.

I run a modified Asfir front skid plate. I needed to modify it for compatibility with the ARB bumper. It is well made and light.

Interesting. I like all that I am reading about the Excursion.......okay.......I want to share some thoughts. First of all, no, I haven't been drinking, really. I see the hood line is pretty high + I see its got a long wheelbase + is pretty wide.....perhaps, with some Engineering, the cab comes off my 6x6 chassis and the Excursion body goes on......

Have another beer and ponder this Excursion. I can't remember where I found this picture but I always liked the setup, although not necessarily the additional doors.
