2001 7.3 Ford F350 6 speed manual with Custom Flatbed Camper
Due to a job change, I've decided to post a feeler for my dream setup, willing to separate but would prefer to sell as a package for 65K75k, OBO.
Currently we’re bouncing around Colorado but will be in Boulder / Denver for the beginning of July, from there we’ll be heading towards the East Coast Ultimately ending up in Wilmington NC, If you’re near any of those areas and would like to see the rig, please reach out!
My girlfriend and I have been living out of this platform for ~6 months full time skiing, climbing, surfing, and of course working
It is an excellent setup for folks looking to work full time while on the road, without spending the enormous amount required for any other overland truck/flatbed camper setup on the market today.
The Truck:
- 2001 F350 Lariat Superduty CrewCab Longbed (Seating for 6)
- 7.3 Diesel Engine with only ~138,000 miles (Daily Driving will go up slightly)
- 6 speed ZF6 MANUAL transmission
- 4 inch Turbo Back exhaust
- S&B cold air intake
- RiffRaff Intercooler Boots
- RiffRaff HPX oil crossover
- Hydra Tuner
- Edge CTS2 Touchscren monitor
- Brand new Blistein 5100 shocks
- 35 in Nitto All terrains
- 18 in XD wheels
- 38 Gallon Fuel tank
- Firestone rear diff Airbags
- Aluminum rear diff cover
- Aluminum Flatbed with Custom lockable underside toolboxes
- Full Size 35 inch hitch mounted spare
The truck spent most of its life in Arizona (I bought it in Yuma From the original owner) and it has no rust. I have some service records along with the original window sticker. With the Camper fully loaded I average around 11 MPG at 75 mph. The 7.3L Diesel has been incredibly reliable thus far.
The Camper:
Completely custom 4 season Flatbed camper Finished January 2024, more of the build is photographed/documented at https://www.instagram.com/altra_overland/
Base:
- All Aluminum 2X2 inch welded Aluminum Frame (No possibility for rot)
- 1/8 in ACM (Aluminum Composite Material) Paneling adhered to the frame with Sikaflex 252
- 2 inch pink-board foam insulation
- Artic-tern acrylic windows and Doors
- Custom 1.5 inch Aluminum Edge trim
- 4 custom steel jack points with Camper jacks
- Birch plywood interior wall panelling attached to the aluminum with threaded inserts + bolts, no self tapping screws were used
- Externally mounted 5 KW Diesel heater
- Unistrut all over the rear, making it easy to mount gear
- Roam adventure box currently mounted on the back with traction boards
- Brophy Camper Scissor 5 Step
- Starlink mount on the rear
Interior:
- Maxxair 12v fan
- All custom interior cabinets
- Bamboo counter top
- Front runner flat pack and REI soft bins for storage
- Underbed storage with sliding storage boxes
- Recpro 30 gallon Water tank with Recpro electric water pump
- Stainless Steel 15 X 20 inch sink
- DOMETIC CFX3 95DZ, 95 Liter Dual Zone Portable Refrigerator and Freezer, Powered by AC/DC or Solar
- 8 12 v Led lights on two separate switches
- Queen size 4 inch foam mattress
- 36 inch dinet with cushions and under seat storage
- Removable oversized bamboo table
- Currently using a propane Eureka 2 burner camp stove for cooking
Electrical (fully off the grid setup we work full time with starlink + charge our computers almost every day):
- 400 Watts of Renogy Solar panels mounted on the roof
- 2 X 100 Ah Renogy smart self heating Lithium batteries
- 2000 Watt Renogy Pure Sine wave inverter charger
- Renogy 12V 50A DC to DC Charger with MPPT
- Blue Sea Systems 5026 ST Blade Fuse Block 12 Circuit with Ground and Cover
- Gen 2 Starlink + router
