Hey everyone I drive a 2001 disco2 se7 and my air con clutch has apparently seized up. I was wondering if there was a sure fire way to tell if my compressor itself is seized or if it's just my clutch plate. Thank you
If the clutch is seized it means the compressor should be turning all the time. But even if that's happening, the compressor is sure to follow close behind. Best to replace the whole thing before the compressor starts eating itself and spewing pieces of itself into the system (black death) requiring a flush and often a TXV replacement.
