2001 Sequoia aka: Project Black Sheep

ouch, guess you get to fix the back end now too! Bumper time!

Ya, If my front bumper turns out. I guess this a good reason to do the rear too!

I believe that size is due soon in the Cooper ST Maxx.

Sorry about the accident, but that's good news the kid is safe!

Thanks! and thanks for the heads up on the ST's that would be awesome!

I am thrilled with my Goodyear duratracs. I hated them for 3000 miles until they firmed up a bit and not I love em!

Good to Know, Thanks!

Man nice rebuild, and glad you're ok and the kid!

Thanks, I'm doing good and this gives me a good reason to put more time into the Sequoia.

New bumper time/ Build bumper time.

So with the help of my fabricator/ buddy. We started on the front bumper for the Sequoia.

So this is how the Sequoia looked before. With the bumper cover removed

Off with the old rebar and mounting flanges.

With everything we did not need cut off.

Our new flanges that we made are welded in place on the frame rails. Which are two pieced so the bumper can be removed.

Building our base for the front bumper that will house my winch.

Just before tacking it in place.

First chance at looking at the skid plate mocked up in front, still a lot more work to be done to the plate but everything checks out for measurements.

So excited to finish this bumper :wings:, but we have some more work to do before it's all finalized! We still need to finish the sides and skid plate but for the next couple of weeks this is how I will be rocking the Sequoia. Just to make sure I like the depth of the bumper and style. It's easier to make changes now than later, more progress will happen in the next couple of weeks.

new hood and tires

I was finally able to find a damage free hood and right side OEM fender to add to my truck. On with the hood and I will get to the fender once I get more work done on the bumper.

So I could not pass up a good deal, on a set of four BFG's M/T.. They were New Jeep Rubicon Take offs with barely any miles 255/75r17 My ideal size is 255/80r17 in a Cooper A/T..

But for $300 for the set I couldn't pass them up...
