Sick of being cooped up because of Covid? Want to get out and have some adventures? Pick up this turn key overland build and head to the woods this weekend or just take it to your friend's house and have your own private fort so you can social distance. Whatever your adventure you can get to it without breaking the bank. I have owned the truck since 2005 and am only parting with it because I had a kid and want something with a few more airbags and want to do a new overland build with the family in mind. The truck has been to 44 of the 50 states and 6 of the 10 Canadian provinces. I have had more awesome adventures with this truck than I can count and want someone else to keep enjoying it for another 270 thousand miles. This is the cheapest way into overlanding with a vehicle that will just keep rolling along.
The Truck
It is a double cab with 3.4L V6 with 270K on the clock. It has always had Mobil 1 synthetic oil and with the exception of a glacially slow power steering fluid leak it holds its fluids. It has been exceptionally reliable over the years thanks to the fact that there isn’t much that can break. It has manual windows and locks, no ABS or cruise control. The frame was replaced and is in great shape. Head unit has been replaced so it has bluetooth audio and hands free calling. It has a K&N air filter and the tires are sized up from stock to 265/75R16 they have a limited number of miles left on them but currently still do the trick. It has the old style trac rack. The hood latch was broken so there are hood pins installed instead. There is some significant rot in the rockers but the rest of the body panels are in good shape. It had a full front brake job this summer with new pads, rotors and calipers. Heat blows hot, AC blows cold. Stickered through October 2021.
The Overland Build
The rooftop tent is from TuffStuff 4x4 and comes with a bunch of extras, including the lower annex, a cold weather cover and a full size air mattress with a 12v air pump and heated blanket. There is a dual battery setup with a blue seas automatic charge relay and an accessory panel replacing where the ashtray was. There is a CB radio and antenna. It has a 20” light bar which does wonders in the night. The stock suspension was completely replaced with a full Old Man Emu kit with front coilovers, rear leaf springs, shackles and shocks it is all a bit beat on but certainly still does the trick. For recovery the truck comes with a set of MaxTrax and a farm jack. Front bumper valance has been removed for increased approach angle and the tubular off road rear bumper can take a licking. Everything you need to go get stuck and get back out.
