Don’t give up on it. My guess is that it sounds like you are leaking some unmetered air into the engine post-MAF. When you unplug the MAF the engine falls back to less precise air quantity estimates based only on your TPS so any air leaks would be masked. Can you drive it with the MAF unplugged or does that only cure your idle problem? It doesn’t take much to screw with the A/F ratio. On my engine for example, if I remove the hose to the manifold for the EVAP canister and let it suck air through that hole the engine barely idles. I can roll my thumb back and forth over that hole and completely control how rough the engine runs. I’d check both ends of every vacuum line attached to your intake manifold. Snip the ends and reattach if they feel loose. Check the hose clamp to the throttle body. Maybe your injector seals are leaking some air. Maybe you need to replace your intake manifold gaskets.
