2003 Tahoe Build - Family Overland Rig

Rigd Ultra Swing is sold. Next up is the GMT900 front brake upgrade with police package parts. I recently did the rear brakes again with the police package calipers and pads. Now it's time for the front to match up so hopefully the brake temps are even front to back. If I can't go faster I can at least stop faster.

What are the part numbers for the police package parts?

I got all the brake parts from RockAuto.com. The police package / fleet vehicle parts are identified as such. For the front brakes you just go looking for parts that fit the GMT900 series 1500 trucks. Lots of write ups out there on this. I didn't get the slotted rotor style this time as I think that just causes more issues in the long run. I'll get some photos of my install up soon.

Here's some front brake pictures. The GMT900 front rotors are 13-inch diameter, the GMT800 are 12-inch. Much more contact area and longer moment arm.

This is the third time I've done the brakes in 85,000 miles. The second time was with a Power Stop kit and a bit a of a COVID lock down response as I needed something to do. The first time was fancy ACDelco rotors and regualr pads. Anyhow, I'm good at doing this now. Hope fully this refresh will last a good long time.
