2003 Unimog U500 154” Wheel Base

Located in Truckee, CA. I bought the 'Mog for a ranch truck and maybe (someday) base for an Expedition rig. We cleaned it up, repaired and clean up a lot of little items, and then found a Schmidt snow blower for the "Ranch" driveway. However, before I ever used it for any work, I sold the "Ranch" and now it is stored indoors in Truckee waiting for some one to love it. We love taking it to coffee, icecream, and cruising Tahoe... but it needs a home that is going to use it.

It is registered in CA. Since it is a 26k GVWR model, it is one of the rare examples in the US that do not need a commercial license to drive it.

[Edit: need an asking price, so I copied this from a later post: "It is listed for $109,500 w/o the plow, $132,500 with."]

#Update# Please PM for price and more info. I'd really prefer not to separate. Serious inquiries only please.

Yeah, was going to say the same thing. This would be a perfect candidate for a GXV build. If I were to buy it from you I would probably try and flip it to them. :)

Thanks Pugslyyy and Mog... I have spoken to Mike and Rene about it in case they have a client that needs a base rig for a build.

GLWS, let us know how it goes. If they want it I'm certain that they will make you a very good offer - a client for a U500 based GXV build is not going to be particularly price sensitive.

I have a terminal issue(going to get a mog or i'll die) and my last wish is to ride in a u500. I'm only 12 hours away from you to the east. While your here you might need to get home faster than driving. You could store it here for a while. We'll even store it away from the goats so the stink doesn't stick to it.
Will you consider any trades? Say a rocket or a couple of persian rugs?

Dan

Or a herd of goats?

It's a small heard, but as I have found when you put the males in with the females, the heard doubles and triples rather quickly. Soon you'll be buying a lot of hay that gets mostly wasted and swearing more than you ever imagined a human could.
Oh for sure it's a real blast.

I guess that I'll be the one to point out that listings of vehicles in the Portal's For Sale section must include an asking price.

Valid for sale posts by forum members:

1. Must be expedition related, or equipment used in support of an expedition or adventure. For example, the advertising on land for sale would not be appropriate, but a kayak would be. Firearms, ammunition or weapons are not permitted.

2. Must include the physical location of the item, i.e- Prescott, Arizona, USA

3. Must include a complete description of the item, including the asking price

4. Must include any known defects or concerns on the items (this is a critical point, as you are selling an item to someone who will likely use it in a remote location, and their safety may depend on it)

5. Negotiations and personal information should be exchanged via email or PM, not in the thread.

6. No disparaging remarks or chat over the asking price

7. Please remove or update the thread after it has sold.

That's strange - I'm pretty sure it had an asking price when first posted or else I would have said something! It's listed http://www.unimog.net/sales/u500tahoe/ for $109,500
You are correct, it had a price both with and without the plow.
That went away when it was updated, see below

Hmm... what kind of rocket do you have? I have been looking for a good rocket/herd of goat combo for a project I have in mind.
