I have a great, nicely used RAM 2500 beast that is looking for a new owner.

It has a short-wheel base, aftermarket bumpers front and rear, an Alucab (almost new) rooftop tent sitting on a North State Overland frame, WITH and Alucab 270-degree shadow awning. It has a Cascadia solar panel, and a custom drawer in the truck bed. This truck can take you anywhere.

The truck is solid. It has a 5.9l 24-valve Diesel with 600 lb-ft of torque, coupled to a 6 speed manual transmission a 4WD undercarriage. Trailer hitch, driving lights, reasonably fresh tires and shocks. It is well maintained, and has 267000 miles (The Cummings has at least that many miles left in its life)

Lots of little extras.

This rig is based in Colorado (where it has resided since it was new - I am the second owner)

I am presently building a van (I was spoiled with an E350 Sportsmobile at one point, which I sold on this forum), and my gal would prefer a van over the rooftop setup

I welcome all comments ...

I bought the truck from a good friend who relocated overseas, and I have known this truck since since it was originally purchased. I have a complete maintenance record for the past ~20 years. I purchased it in 2021. It is a Colorado truck, which means that it has been based here continuously (although many trips all over the West). I would estimate 90% highway miles. No repairs. I have replaced batteries, shocks and tires, and replaced the rear bumper with an aftermarket bumper that matches the one up front, added a tailgate (it previously had a Callen camper in the bed and the original had been misplaced). I have added the NSO rack system, the Alucab gen 3.1 roof-top tent and 270-degree shadow awning, and Cascadia solar panel. I do all my own work on vehicles of all sorts - all maintenance is done religiously.

The only bits that are not functioning at the moment or need work are the steering column adjustment lever, a couple of burned out dash lights, and one of the parking brake cables is stretched. The steering column adjustment bits are a hard thing to replace. BUT, if one sticks their head under the dash, with a screwdriver you can adjust it easily. I have set it for me (the only driver) and don't need to fix it.

The previous owner had replaced or repaired a number number of items in its first 230,000 miles, including ball-joints, u-joints, crankshaft sensor, turbo waste gate actuator, brake calipers, pads, rotors, ..., etc, clutch and related items, and had performed overhauls of transfer case, front hubs, differentials, water pump, drive belt and tensioners. The previous owner was very proud of this truck, and was on top of all maintenance needs.

Does this help?

I am driving this truck every week. Whether going skiing in the Rockies, mountain biking on the West slope, or canyoneering in Utah. It has never hauled large trailers or been used for plowing or other "heavy" work. It is solid, has a lot of life left, is VERY capable in 4WD country, and the "Expedition" add-ons are 1st class.

It comes with a Diesel-fired Espar cab heater (installed), which had been used with Callen camper. I have been considering routing a heating hose to the RTT - one of the little projects not yet done.

I note elsewhere on this site the phrase "Million-mile engine" used in reference to this generation Cummins Diesel. I just stay on top of the basic maintenance, and don't abuse the vehicle - like no towing or plowing :)

This is how i received the the RAM in 2021, with a Callen camper. I sold this camper on this forum in 2022. It was somewhat cumbersome, but more important, I couldn't load a sheet of plywood :) And a truck must do truck things once in awhile!

First addition was the North States Overland 1515-based bed rail system. Good stuff coming out of North Carolina.

This custom full-length drawer handles skis, chairs, step stools, tent ladder and any other bits securely.

This is the Alucab Gen 3.1 freshly installed. The previous owner somehow lost the original tailgate when he installed the Callen. This "gate" was an interim solution (it is included as an "extra") in the sale. An aftermarket tailgate is currently fitted to the truck

These are photos of the rooftop tent up and with rain flies attached . I have set this tent up to access on the driver's side (sorry no pictures yet of the telescoping ladder in place). The tent is first class. Great mattress. There is a 12V feed to USB ports and inside lighting. Probably the best rooftop tent one can buy. The 270-degree shadow awning (shown above) is self-supporting, and also a first-class design.
