Did you cut the bedsides to mount your bumper like the builder's? Also, why mount the tire on the passenger side? Wouldn't it be better to put the hinge and tire on the driver's side so you don't lose rear visibility?

that is my bumper on the builders truck. He made it on his to fit my truck as we have the same year Tacoma.

I will be cutting the bedsides around the side of the truck as they will get banged up eventually. Added protection. Also the exo cage for the truck is going to tie into the bedside of the bumper.

The spare tire was mounted on the passenger side to off set fuel tank weight, also to make room for 2 gas cans and the table for camping cookers on the back side.

The platform behind the swing out is cleaver!

Do you have any information of the aux tank setup? How did you work around the emission check system?

wel I'm still working all that out. At this point I'm not sure if I'm going to do now since I can carry another 40L of fuel with me on the bumper.

I've thought about doing on board air.

This One.

To me right now and where the build is going I think on-board air would be a bit more useful. I might even re-think a bigger fuel tank in the future, or trying to get a larger one for a Hilux to fit.

That's a really nice OBA setup.
What's you average driving distance on a trip? On my last trip I missed a gas station at around 280 miles and can't find another one for awhile when I finally found a gas station at 320 miles I was running on fume. It took about 20 US gal to fill up which means I'll be out of gas if I have to go another 30+ miles to find gas. :sombrero: I filled up my Jeffy can after that.

I get about 525 kms on a tank which would be 70 liters so that's when the dash light comes on and I should be able to do another 25k if need be, but if I have a couple cans I can go a pretty good distance. Should be around 800kms with using the back cans.

That's pretty good MPG with all the mods you have. Looks like I should get the URD pulley and get a little more at the low and mid end of the rpm.

Hi Guys!

Haven't been on in a while as I'm trying to get the truck done this year as well as many other things on the go.

Thought I would share a pic of the new rear bumper on the truck now. Big Thanks to Kevin at Armortech Off-road for the great product and great shipping to my door!

Sorry for the not so good quality, took with a phone when I got it on. When the truck is done I will snap some great pictures of it.

Now onto the exo cage and roof rack. Truck should be done around the middle of July.

Stay Tuned.

PS - Onboard air got onto the truck last weekend so when I have time I will snap a picture of that for you all.

:smiley_drive:

Hi guys!

Got out camping over the weekend with the Simpson III tent and half the exo cage on the truck. Still many things to finish on the cage but figured I would show you a bit of the set up from a distance.

When the cage it fully done I will show lots more pictures which should happen in the next couple weeks.
