2006 Montero Ltd Seat problems

My driver seat functions all work except for recline. The seat will move upright but will not recline. I may have a bad switch. I haven’t had a chance to do any troubleshooting yet. Any tips on resolving this issue? Is there a way to mechanically recline the seat for now?

I do not know of any mechanical backup to the seat recline. You may be able to check voltage at the pins.
Grab an FSM from my signature and it should have a detailed guide for you.

My 07 gen 4 has just started this issue at random, I feel the best way to sort this out will be open the side panel and remove the seat switch and clean it. as mine became a problem only after i left it sitting for many months, so possible corrosion or build up of dust

Happened to us (2016 Montero) once. Couldn't adjust the seatback. To optimise resources we took it in to the dealer who said that we'd need a new seat (the entire seat) at some ridiculous price. We drove away and it's worked perfectly since...
