I went today to buy a Ford 450 4 x 4 crew cab diesel Cab abd chassis. I was going to trade in my 2007 Dodge. 18000 miles. bought in November. Price for the Ford was $40,000.00 after rebates. I owed $38,000 on my truck, but NADA listed tradein as $30,000.00 retail at $34,500.00. I so I knew I would lose. But the quad cab is to small for adults to sit in the back seat. When the manager came back with thier offer I was speachless. $19,000.00. The reason was that Dodge has cut the price of the trucks to 40% to 50% off MSRP. Dealer #2 offered $20,000.00. So I think that I can do alot of improvements to my Dodge for the lose I was going to take. Airbags, Elockers, Lift, Banks Power. What else is there??

A Four Wheel pop up camper! And a winch!

Do you really need more power than stock? Save your money on the power upgrades.

I looked into locker options...I think all that's available is an ARB for the rear and then get the factory Power Wagon e-locker for the front.

According to the folks at Earthroamer, the small back seat in the Dodge quad cab has discouraged buyers from choosing the Dodge chassis. Instead, the Ford gets the nod, for exactly the reason that prompted you to try to trade your Dodge in.

The redesigned four-door cab for the 2009 Dodge 1500 is smaller than the Mega Cab of years past, but it's bigger than the old Quad Cab, and about the same size as the Ford crew cab. In a couple of years, this cab will make its way to the Dodge heavy duty lineup.

From what I've seen on the value of the Dodge's they dealers are offereing 40-50% off of 1/2 tons... NOT 3/4 and 1 tons. Having said that, I went in to see what deal they would make me on my 04 for a new 08 and they only offered me 13k for my 04 with 60k miles on it. KBB was 18k.

I'll give you 15k.

The improvements to your Dodge really depend on how you intend to use it and how much money you want to spend.

I used to have a company that focused on suspension and accessories for Dodges.

I chose to spend more money on suspension that other items. The Dodge is pretty powerful with the stock engine. With the right suspension and tires, you can do quite a bit with that truck.

I'm holding onto it for now... I can't bring myself to spend the money for the new ones... nor do I want to deal with the lower MPG and emissions *issues.*

Now if I were to find a nice used one with an auto and a 5.9... :D

I recognize the Desert Proven name from some of the other forums. What happened to your business?

Hey! Did I miss something?? When did an ARB become available for my Ram?
