It is time to let go of our adventure buddy. Work has me moving back over seas and hate to just see it sit for a few years.

  • 4.9 gallon LP tank from a westfalia mounted inside the frame rail on the drivers side well tucked away

I have done the majority of the service my self always with OEM Toyota parts

Camper

  • Custom built light weight all Aluminum cab over wedge camper. Camper weighs 300lbs +or- I have never weighed it but two of us can lift it up and on the bed rails. Sunbrella weatherproof tent sides
  • Whole camper is insulated with 1" foam and there are reflective bubble wrap insulation for the canvas and window sections
  • Blues breaker pannel, two separate light circuits, one for the heater and one for outlets
  • Built in LED overhead strip and 4 individual lights
  • Atwood hydroflame 1800 BTU heater. With the top up and 15ºf out at night we would set the temp to 60 and the LP tank would last 4 or 5 days
  • Slide in wooden bench with storage and cushion. Fiberglass wrapped bottom and painted with awl grip
  • Slide in cabinet with shelves for storage, sink and stove. Fiberglass wrapped bottom and painted with awl grip
  • Cab over sleeping section slides out to make a 72" x 50" bed. Cusions are all covered in Sunbrella

The bad. Just about every panel has digs/ dents/ scrapes. There is some rust around the truck but no holes. The drivers side front seat cover is worn through on the outboard bolster from getting in and out. Front right of the bed has a 1" crack from tying something to heavy down :( But it is not getting any worse. The tent has a few holes from where it would get caught in the hinges when being closed up. Fog lights don't currently work, bulbs I think are just out. The rest is pretty status quo I think for the age of the truck.

This truck is super capable off road, simple reliable light weight rig. Wish I could keep exploring with it but need to set my self up in Spain. Truck is running great and averages 16 to 18 MPG with the camper on. I have put 6,000 miles on it the past two months, driving cross country and exploring NP in the south west. I have an appointment to change front and Rear diff fluids as well as the trans and transfer case. Truck should be good to keep rumbling!

Truck is currently in Santa Barbara. If it does not sell in March out this way. I will be driving back to Rhode Island. I could deliver but would have to discuss details.

This is rad! Are you the builder? Is there a build thread or any more info on this camper?

I can't tell from the photos how the bed is set up. Does 1 platform slide out to reveal the other half of the bed?

Hey sure am ! The build thread link is towards the top of the post. And yup you are spot on about the bed set up. The two cushions stack with the outer portion of the bed support sliding fwd under them. One of the big goals of this build for me was to keep it all low tech for reliability and ability to fix on the go.
All the best

Thought I would share a bit of an update. Thanks to those of you have reached out. I am back in California this week and happy to show the truck. I know some of you are a ways away am happy to do a zoom walk through. I'll likely be starting the drive back East next week if it does not sell out here.
