Another front bumper option would be buckstop bumpers. The offer a good bit of front ground clearence over the ranch hand bumpers. You can also order the rear bumper replacement too, and get your lights and winch all in one as well.

The cost of these things makes me want to go out and buy a truck dedicated to trailing instead of building this one.

My local off road group is going out to big bend some time this year, so i am still going to use the tahoe, just not to its full potential, i will keep it as my daily driver.

Dunno what your financial situation may be but it could be cheaper just to figure out how to outfit the Tahoe than to buy a second rig and outfit that one. Since my Tahoe was paid for, it was cheaper to fab my bumpers and assorted odds and ends than to buy another vehicle that had accessories readily available for it.

Agreed, I would suggest looking at Buckstop, they have already been making bumpers for the NNBS GM trucks since their inception.

Also, I would look at Reunel bumpers, they have some applications for NNBS Chevy trucks.

i say keep the tahoe, i considered getting rid of mine, then thought "no, i want something noone else has done" so i say keep the hoe, then when people ask tell them "yea, i made it"

one more thing, anyone else notice the obs tow hooks on the bottom of that bumper??

iv been thinking of one of those towtruck bumpers you see on the repo trucks, the ones made for pushing cars out of the way and off the road, to bad they have less ground clearence than a corvette

How is the gas mileage? Do you have the 4 speed auto?

Is there a skid plat on the gas tank?

hes prob got the 5 speed auto, my 97 hoe came with a 4 speed auto, horrible milage, its got a nv3500 now, much much better, iv heard that the more recent hoes have a 6 speed auto option, but thats just a myth to me, as is the 6 speed allison:drool:

nice Tahoe! i love seeing the full size vehicles get built up. i say stick with the Tahoe, it'll just take some extra time and saving money for it. have you looked into Road Armor for a front bumper? i know they make bumpers for the NNBS trucks. they probably started making Tahoe and Suburban versions also.

If you don't mind me asking, what volunteer first responder group are you a part of? I have wanted to get involved with a volunteer organization like that but I didn't think we had any in our neck of the woods.

EDIT: Also check out KMA heres a link http://www.kenmtnac.com/sitebuilder/images/20072500Suburban019-600x450.jpg

O, and as for the bumper situation, it is not going to work out because no one in S.A. will install it because of the way you have to cut and modify the bumper, the only people that will are going to charge a crazy amount.
