It is finally time for me to part with my long-time camper van. This has been my favorite travel/camping vehicle to date. However, my wife and I decided that we wanted more space for our extended trips and moved on to a truck camper.

I am still working on cleaning and tidying up a few loose ends on the van to get it ready for it’s next owner. These pictures are all a couple of years old but the van is basically the same. More better and updated pictures will be coming in the next week or so.

I started with a build thread here though it is out of date.

A word on my asking price. I based this on what the cheapest empty AWD Ford Transit’s are selling for at this time. 18-20k gets you a bare AWD Transit with approximately 165k miles. Yes they are newer and have lower mileage, but they are not ready to camp this weekend like my van is. I don’t know if this is the best comparison, but it is what I came up with. With all of that said I am willing to discuss price or possible partial trade options with interested parties.

I purchased this van in 2013 with approximately 68k miles and proceeded to complete a camper build out. As with all things our wants and needs evolved throughout our ownership and as such so did the buildout. This is not a professional level build; I would call it much better than the average DIY build. It was meant to be a rolling gear locker with a bed rather that a RV style van designed for maximum comfort when hanging out. I am willing to work with a buyer to modify the layout as needed within reason.

I drove this van across country several times a year for my entire ownership. As such I always placed reliability at the top of my priorities. Therefore, I have done my best to keep up with all required maintenance. Also choosing to do make many repairs preventatively before there was a problem. The van itself is bare bones with crank windows and manual locks. It does have cruise control and air conditioning. Every year I have owned this van I treated the underbody with either fluid film or LPS 3. However, despite those efforts and doing my best to always wash it after being driven in the winter it is starting to develop some rust. The worst of which is on the front bumper. It is still much better that 98% of the vehicles you will find from this region of the same vintage.

Van modifications

-3” lift kit with 3/4ton rear springs, Bilstien shocks

-Pioneer BT stereo with kicker speakers

-Passenger seat swivel

-Alloy Chevrolet Tahoe wheels with 265/70/17 Cooper discoverer ATP tires

Camper build features

-Fiberine 24” fiberglass high top

- Body panels sound proofed and extra rust proofing applied before interior build

-Rear body interior insulated

-Side storage boxes along wheel wells

-Industrial rubber flooring

-Maxxair fan

-Roof rack

-23 Zero awning

-Light solar build with 180 watt panel and 200ah battery, house battery also charges via a blue sea relay when the vehicle is running

-Interior lighting

-Queen size memory foam mattress

-Norcold chest fridge/freezer

-Underbody water tank with pump and shower wand (there is a heat exchanger installed for hot water however I disconnected the hoses which attach it to the van cooling system as we rarely used it)

Recent notable maintenance, below is only a partial list of the more recent big ticket items. I will provide all of the records I have for potential buyers.

-The diesel heater shown in the pictures has been removed and the door sealed. If I can't sell the van I will just patch it with prepainted aluminum. If a buyer would like a replacement door they are available for around $700, we can work that out.

-10/21 193k replaced exhaust manifolds, spark plugs and wires, front wheel bearings, upper/lower control arms and tie rod ends

-11/22 202k transmission rebuilt

-1/23 208k replaced front axle shafts, changed all driveline fluids

-3/23 210k replaced radiator, Transmission service
