No one will be there stop us and no one will be there to collect user fees! I can even bring my dogs that are typically prohibitted within the hundreds of thousands of acres of parks...

Perfect!

Unfortunately, the gates and surroundings are all blocked and the local, federal, and state law inforcement are allowed to work and ticket, tow, fine, kick off anyone.

Not to be a Debbie-Downer

The feds won't be there. Also, with the crowd in town, that's where you'll find the locals and some state. The rest of the state troopers will be on the highways to and from town...

And its always easier to appologise than ask permission.

We'll have a Jurgens XT140 trailer there behind one of the Nemesis Industries vehicles. We'll be representing the Overlanding crowd. We also plan to have the Bundu Gear Land Cruiser on display in the arena; we won't stick out a bit!

I hope this is just a toy and not Jeeps idea of a Pickup... I did read somewhere that Jeep may not do a standard cab and bed, but a one piece design. The bed on that thing is just too small IMO...

Surely this truck is aimed at addressing those wanting something close to the J8 and will be offered in kit form in addition to the Gladiator, right? They cannot think this will satisfy the Jeep truck market.

Autoblog now has photos of the 6 custom vehicles that Jeep will present at the Safari

http://www.autoblog.com/2011/04/07/six-jeep-models-get-the-mopar-makeover-for-2011-safari-in-moab/

The six are:

-- Jeep Wrangler Renegade: 6.4L Hemi power, ProRock 44 front, 60 rear axle, air lockers, 4 inch lift, 35 inch tires

-- Jeep Wrangler Pork Chop: Stripped out 850 lbs of weight by removing doors and interior trim, substituting lightweight body panels, seats and hood.

-- Jeep Cherokee Overland: Cherokee with 2.8L turbodiesel (!), steel disc wheels, 3 inch suspension left, big roof rack, painted ExPo white with Zebra stripes

-- Jeep Wrangler Blue Crush: Completely over the top custom jeep. 426 cu in Hemi, 39 inch tires, custom suspension, fuel cell, full roll cage

-- Jeep Compass Canyon: Compass with 2.5 inch suspension lift, 225 R 16 tires, underbody protection, and cold air induction kit

-- Grand Cherokee from 2010 SEMA: 2 inch suspension lift, 32 inch tires

I hope Overland Journal gets its hands on the Cherokee Overland for a couple of days of testing!

The Jeep Cherokee Overland is based on the European version of the vehicle sold in USA as the Jeep Liberty. The diesel engine is from VM Motori, and is offered by any Jeep dealer in Europe. So the Overland is a stock vehicle with a suspension lift and new graphics. Still, it would be interesting to compare it with the Liberty model with diesel that was sold here in 2005 and 2006.

It should be fun this year, curious how long they can keep a JK diesel away from the US market... If they bring it here, I'll probably go to one vehicle.
